Thematic Learning Event on Innovative Approaches for Promoting Small-to-Medium Scale Commercial Poultry Production in Zimbabwe

The Zimbabwe Agricultural Growth Programme (ZAGP) is convening the inaugural Thematic Learning Meeting focusing on the Poultry Value Chain. The event will run under the theme; “Can Collective Action by Small Scale Poultry Producers Provide Solutions to the Challenges in the Poultry Sector? Experiences and Lessons from the Inclusive Poultry Value Chain (IPVC) Project”.

The event, bringing together players in Zimbabwe’s Poultry Value Chain, will be held at the Golden Conifer Functions Venue, 30 Quendon Road, Strathaven, Harare on 28th June 2022 from 09.00 to 12.00.

Through the learning events, the ZAGP seeks to profile the various project approaches, concepts and innovations and share the successes, challenges and lessons. 

The IPVC project has focused on collective action through Poultry Business Units (PBUs) offering different services ranging from bulk input procurement, collective marketing, joint access to financial services and extension services to registered Poultry Business Association (PBA) members across the project’s five clusters in Bulawayo, Gweru, Harare, Masvingo, and Mutare.
